Inkjet Printing –Canvas

Canvas is a very popular print medium at the moment. It is very versatile, we use it for finished photographs, art work and even banners. Our printers provides a sharp and vibrant image on both the Museo and Breathing Colour canvas material. It is very affordable to frame, being much more economical than a traditional wooden frame and glass of the same size.

We can arrange to have your canvas stretched for you and we also spray a protective coat on your print as part of the printing cost.

We print on the following types of Canvas media.

Breathing Color Chromata White: Chromata White™ Canvas is a textured 20.5 mil, 450gsm Bright White (brightness of 93), consistent Poly Cotton Blend Matte Canvas using an acid-free, neutral pH coating. We have printed a lot of this material and have had high praise for the results.

Preparing a image for printing on Canvas: A couple of things to note when preparing your image for printing on canvas.

  • Leave 50mm around the edge of your image for wrapping around the stretcher bar. The framing process requires a minimum of 50mm to wrap around the bar and attach to the back. The maximum width of you print is the width of the roll minus 100mm. For example, if you are printing on the 610mm wide roll, the maximum width your canvas print can be is 510mm x any length (printing along the roll). The same goes for the 914mm and 1118mm rolls.
  • Canvas is a flatter medium than other photo type papers. You therefore need to add some contrast and saturation to you image before printing it to attain a snappy looking print. The best way to do this is to use the print profile for the canvas and to soft proof the image in Photoshop before printing it. See our Guides and Tips for instructions on soft proofing.
