Inkjet Printing – Print Coating
We coat all our canvas prints as part of the print service but we can also coat any other type of print material that needs protection.
Coating (also know as a liquid laminate) adds a protective clear varnish to the print which provides a barrier to atmospheric contaminants such as aerosols and airborne acids. It also provides a UV barrier and some level of abrasion resistance. It should be noted that if you really want to scratch the surface, a liquid laminate will not be enough.
It is also possible to place a plastic heat shrink laminate on the surface. This service is available to us via an outside contractor up to a size of 40x60 inches. Pleas call for information on this.
Our two coating solutions are Premier Art Print Shield and Breathing Colour GlamourII Veneer.
Premier Art Print Shield
PremierArtTM Print Shield is a lacquer based protective spray designed specifically for ink jet prints. Print Shield protects all ink jet prints from moisture, UV, light, humidity, atmospheric contaminants, scuffing and fingerprints. Its low solids formulation maintains the original look of the surface of the print, eliminating gloss differential. It is a must for every canvas and fine art ink jet print that needs protection. Also works great on photo papers.

Breathing Color Glamour II
Glamour™ II Veneer, a proprietary canvas varnish (and/or giclee varnish), has been developed to protect, preserve and enhance fine art and photographic prints produced on digital inkjet printers. This new non yellowing, water based canvas varnish is a perfect solution for easy inkjet print finishing. Glamour™ II will enhance the color of pigmented and ultrachrome inks on matte media and increase resistance to image fading. It will protect your expensive images against moisture and abrasion.
