Inkjet Printing
ICC Imagetec offers a fine art printing service to Photographers and Artists on a range of quality papers and Canvas.
Printers
Prints are printed on either a roll or sheet media depending on the print stock and ink type. We use both Epson and the Hewlett Packard pigment printers which provide outstanding gamut and longevity on the papers we use.
Wide Format Roll Prints
Roll prints are done on an Epson 7800 or an HP Z3100 printer. These printers are ideal for panoramic prints from stitched together digital images. We print images on photo papers up 610mm wide on the Epson 7800. Anything that requires a larger paper size is printed on the HP Z3100. All our fine art matte papers and canvas is printed on the HP Z3100
The Epson 7800 printer is set up with Photo Black Ink for use on General photo stocks such as Premium Glossy and Lustre and fine art matte papers such as Crane Silver Rag. It uses 3 black inks and is a great machine for colour or B&W printing. It prints sheet or roll stock to a maximum width of 24" (610mm)
The HP Z3100 printer has Matte Black and Photo Black installed at all times. It uses 4 blacks and has a total of 12 inks including a Gloss Enhancer to reduce bronzing on gloss/lustre stocks. It prints sheet or roll media to a maximum width of 44" (1118mm).
A3+ Sheet Prints
Sheet printing is available on our Epson 2400 to a maximum of A3+ (13"x19"). We can swap between matte and gloss/semi gloss papers as required making this a very versatile machine. We print Crane Artists cards on this machine and Crane Silver Rag is our premium quality paper for this printer. We can also print on any type of media you would like to provide.
All of these printers produce superb quality, high resolution prints at reasonable cost.
Media
We print on a variety of fine quality surfaces from only the best paper manufacturers. ICC Imagetec is a distributor of CRANE digital papers so we print on the Museo Range. Our papers include:
Crane Silver Rag, a paper designed to look and feel like a traditional fibre based darkroom print. This is a critically acclaimed paper used extensively in the US fine print market. 100% cotton, with no optical brighteners, 300gsm
Crane Portfolio Rag, a 300gsm art papers with a smooth surface. 100% cotton, with no optical brighteners.
Hahnemuhle William Turner A yellower base than Portfolio Rag with a slight "tooth" on its surface. A great paper for textured subjects. 190gsm
Breathing Color Chromata White Canvas. A quality poly cotton canvas with a clean white and no optical brighteners.
Epson Premium Glossy 250gsm high gloss RC paper
Epson Premium Lustre 260gsm pearl surface RC paper
Paper Profiles
We create our own paper profiles for our printers using Profile Maker Pro from Gretag Macbeth. Profiles are available for download for both our printers and our papers from our PROFILES page. Having the profile for the paper you are using will enable you to Soft proof you image before printing. Follow the instructions of our Profiles page.
Print Coating
We also offer a print coating service to protect vulnerable paper or canvas prints. These coatings provide a barrier against moisture, atmospheric pollutants and abrasion. This treatment can increase the life span of your print by a factor of 2x. We use Premier Art Print Shield for our canvas and papers. Coating is included in the price of canvas printing but optional for other media.
