SureLab D3000

The newest addition to our printing range, the Surelab D3000 allows us to do all the small size  jobs our clients require for a fraction of the cost of our traditional large format prints. This device uses a new Ultrachrome D6 inkset to produce lab quality prints that far exceed the norm in colour gamut and sharpness. This machine is designed for high volume quality prints at ecconomy prices. Traditional gloss, lustre and even a matte surface is available. It is also fast, producing up to 600 6x4" trimmed prints an hour. All the traditional photo sizes are available either borderless or with a 3mm white border. As usual with our printing, expect the best quality in the field.

Wide Format Inkjet (Giclee) Printing

ICC Imagetec provides a quality inkjet printing service to Tasmanian and mainland customers. We use only the finest quality media and long life pigment inks to produce prints of great detail, colour gamut and longevity. Our maximum printing width is 44" (1117mm) and print length is determined by how much of the roll you choose to use. We have three wide format printers, the Epson 9900 HDR 44". the Epson 4900 HDR 17" and the HP Z3100.

The Epson 9900 & 4900 are equiped with the newest HDR inkset to extend the gamut of inkjet prints into previously unprintable regions. The additions of a Green and Orange ink lead to more saturated colours in the spectrum from red through yellow and into green. The orange ink also reduces graininess sometimes evident in skin tones making this machine highly suitable for printing portraiture. This machine can switch bewtween Matte black and Photo black to ensure that the deepest blacks are available on each media type. ICC Profiles are available for all of our standard paper stocks and profiles can be made for any stock that you wish to provide.

Epson9900 gamut (wireframe) vs Epson 7800 gamut for Harman Gloss FB AIWT

As can be seen from from the gamut plots above, the 9900 has a significantly larger colour range than its predescessor, the 7800.

This machine still uses three levels of black for long lasting (up to 200 years) completely neutral prints.

If you would like more information about the Epson 9900 click here to read this PDF file.

The HP Z3100 printer has Matte Black and Photo Black installed at all times. It uses 4 blacks and has a total of 12 inks including a Gloss Enhancer to reduce bronzing on gloss/lustre stocks. It prints sheet or roll media to a maximum width of 44" (1118mm). This machine has the industry's highest rating for archival pigment inks. Standard unframed prints have a life of up to 200 years for colour and over 300 years for Black and White (as tested by the Wilhelm Institute in the USA). It provides the deepest black available on matte papers using pigment inks.

Cards, A4, A3 & A3+ Sheet Prints

Artist card printing is available on our Epson 2400 using matte black ink. A4 and up to A2 sheets are printed on the Epson 4900 or 9900

All of these printers produce superb quality, high resolution prints at reasonable cost.

Media

We print on a wide variety of fine quality surfaces from only the best paper manufacturers. ICC Imagetec is a reseller of Museo, Canson Infinity, Innova Ilford and Harman digital papers and we print on the Museo and Harman range as well as some other manufacturers. Our papers include:

Fine Art Matt papers

Canson Rag Photographique, This is our current favourite matt surface paper. It is 310gsm, 100% cotton paper with a delicate texture and a slight off white base. It prints beautifully in B&W and colour.

Crane Portfolio Rag, a 300gsm art papers with a smooth surface. 100% cotton, with no optical brighteners.

Hahnemuhle William Turner A yellower base than Portfolio Rag with a slight "tooth" on its surface. A great paper for textured subjects. 190gsm or 310gsm

Fine Art Photo Papers

Canson Baryta Photographique This is becoming our favourite Photo Balck paper. It is 310gsm, optical brightener free but still has a clean white. A subtle pearl texture, deep, deep blacks and a rich tonal range make it suitable for all imagery. The base is a alpha-cellulose, acid-free pure white paper with the same barium sulphate coating as for traditional silver halide and a premium inkjet colour receiver layer. And the smell...just like taking a sheet of Kodak Elite out of the bag in the darkroom.

Museo Silver Rag, a paper designed to look and feel like a traditional fibre based darkroom print. This is a critically acclaimed paper used extensively in the US fine print market. 100% cotton, with no optical brighteners, 300gsm

Ilford Gold Fibre Silk, a 310gsm Baryta paper with a silk surface less glossy than Harman but more subtle than Silver Rag. Wide colour gamut and great for B&W.

Harman Gloss Fibre Base Warm Tone, a 320gsm Baryta paper with a warm base and a gloss surface. The baryta provides a deep black and increased colour gamut. Great for B&W or colour.

Canvas

Breathing Color Chromata White Canvas. A quality poly cotton canvas with a clean white and no optical brighteners.

Traditional Resin Coated (RC) Papers

Epson Premium Glossy 250gsm high gloss RC paper

Canson Photo Satin  270gsm Satin (semigloss) surface RC paper

Paper Profiles

We create our own paper profiles for our printers using Profile Maker Pro from Xrite. Profiles are available for download for all our printers and papers from our PROFILES page. Having the profile for the paper you are using will enable you to Soft proof you image before printing.

Print Coating

We also offer a print coating service to protect vulnerable paper or canvas prints. These coatings provide a barrier against moisture, atmospheric pollutants and abrasion. This treatment can increase the life span of your print by a factor of 2x. We use Premier Art Print Shield for our canvas and papers. Coating is included in the price of canvas printing but optional for other media.
